The 15th International Week of Film Critics is an appointment of the 57th International Festival of Cinematographic Art, 2000. The "Settimana Internazionale della Critica" is promoted, arranged and organized by the National Union of Italian Film Critics (Sindacato Nazionale Critici Cinematografici Italiani) with the cooperation of the Biennale of Venice, 57th International Festival of Cinematographic Art, 2000 and under the aegis of the Fipresci (Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique).
In order to take part in the "15. Settimana Internazionale della Critica", films which should be of 16 or 35 mm., must be the directors first full-lenght film; not have been shown in public in their country of origin before August 1999; not have been presented either in or out of competition, in the official sectors, or in parallel sectors of any International Film Festival.
A maximum of 7 full-lenght films will be selected by the General Delegate of Sncci for the International Week of Film Critics of Venice Andrea Martini, assisted by a group of critics: Alberto Castellano, Giuseppe Ghigi, Fabio Ferzetti, Silvana Silvestri, appointed by the Sncci.
The films of the 15th International Week of Film Critics takes part in the "Venezia Opera Prima" award consisting of 100 million lire (Euro 51.645) and the "Cult Network Italia" award consisting of 10 thousand dollars.
Films submitted for selection must reach the "Settimana Internazionale della Critica" non later than June 30th, 2000. Copies of the films (in 16 or 35 mm., optical sound track, or a video copy of the film, Vhs, Pal Secam or Ntsc systems) must be sent to the following address:

Art. 1
The 15th International Week of Film Critics will be held in Venice during the 57th International Festival of Cinematographic Art, 2000. The "Sic, Venice" (Settimana Internazionale della Critica, Venezia) is promoted, arranged and organized by the National Union of Italian Film Critics (Snnci, Sindacato Nazionale Critici Cinematografici Italiani), under the aegis of the Fipresci (Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique) and with the cooperation of the Biennale.
Art.2
In order to take part in the "Sic Venezia", films which should be of 16 or 35 mm., must be the directors first full-lenght film.
The works automatically excluded from the Festival are: films already given any form of public screening in Italy; films already being distributed outside their country (or countries) of origin (with the possible exception of European woks that have only been screened in bordering nations with the same language, or those non-European films that have not been screened outside their respective sub-continents); not have been shown in public in their country of origin before August 1999.
Works that have already been screened (in or out of competition) at other international film festivals are automatically excluded.
Art. 3
A maximum of 7 full-length films will be selected by the General Delegate of Sncci for the International Week of Film Critics of Venice Andrea Martini, assisted by a group of critics: Alberto Castellano, Giuseppe Ghigi, Fabio Ferzetti, Silvana Silvestri, appointed by the Sncci. Their judgment is final.
Art. 4
Films submitted for selection must either be in Italian, French, English or Spanish, or be dubbed in one of these languages, or else they must be accompanied by the list of dialogues in one of these languages. All films submitted must be accompanied by information about the films them-selves and their directors, as well as a full account of the plot in either Italian, English, French or Spanish.

Films submitted for selection must reach the "Sic, Venezia" not later than June 30th, 2000. Copies of the films (in 16 or 35 mm., optical sound track, or a video copy of the film, Vhs, Pal, Secam or Ntsc systems) must be sent to the following address:

Art. 6
Presenters are responsible for the costs of forwarding films from their country of origin to Venice and back. They must also pay the forwarding of publicity and photographic material. Protection against harm caused to the selected films in unloading and screening is guaranteed by an "all risks" policy stipulated by the Mostra itself, and covers the period in which copies of the film remain with the Mostra. The Mostra also assumes the responsibility for the care and custody of the film during the entire period of the Mostra.
Art. 7
Films selected by the Selection Committee which are not spoken in Italian must be presented at the Festival with their original sound-track, with Italian subtitles. Presenters are responsible for this cost.
Art. 8
The films of the 15th International Week of Film Critics takes part in the "Venezia Opera Prima" award consisting of 100 million lire (Euro 51.645) and the "Cult Network Italia" award consisting of 10 thousand dollars.
Art. 9
The indications of the National Sectors of Fipresci, independent applications for participation and all correspondence must be addressed to: 15. Settimana Internazionale della Critica - Venezia

Art. 10
Duly motivated exceptions to these regulations may be made by the General Delegate, with the approval of the Commission and of the Executive Committee of the Sncci.
Art. 11
Any points not covered by these regulations must be settled by the practice and regulations of the International Film Festival of Venice.
Participation in the "Sic, Venezia" implies acceptance of these regulations.
